Continuation of retail and entertainment centre “Troitskiy” construction near the National sports complex “Olimpiyskiy” will not allow to hold EURO-2012 matches. It also endangers opportunity to use the main arena of our country within the framework of other competitions under the aegis of FIFA and UEFA.

This was disclosed by Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Andriy Deshchytsia. He reminded of a valid non-visa regime for European citizens. Oncoming negotiations between Ukraine and the EU on simplification of a visa regime will also add to the issue. In this context Andriy Deshchytsia promised to apply all efforts to insure unimpeded migration of Ukrainian fans to Poland for the Euro-2012.

The wait is finally over and it's great news for Ukraine and Lviv. As part of the victorious Euro 2012 joint bid by Poland and Ukraine, Lviv will will host some of the group matches. Dniepropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kiev are the other Ukrainian cities that will host games, while four Polish cities, Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw, and Poznan will also have the honour of staging this prestigious tournament.
